UPDATE!!

Looks like they shrunk the area but Dog Point, Marble Point and Marble Canyon are still inside the boundary, in effect until August 31st.

ORDER

FULLER FIRE TEMPORARY AREA/TRAIL CLOSURE

KAIBAB NATIONAL FOREST

NORTH KAIBAB RANGER DISTRICT

Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. 551 and Title 36 CFR 261.50 (a) and/or (b), the following acts are prohibited in areas as described in this Order on National Forest System lands administered by the Kaibab National Forest, North Kaibab Ranger District in Coconino County in the State of Arizona. The restricted area is depicted on the attached map, hereby incorporated into this Order as Exhibit A.

PROHIBITIONS:

  1. Being in an area, 36 CFR 261.53(e)
  2. Being on a trail, 36 CFR 261.55(a)
  3. Being on the road, 36 CFR 261.54(e)

EXEMPTIONS:

Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50 (e), the following persons are exempt from this order:

  1. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty; and,
  2. Persons with a permit specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission.

AREA DESCRIBED:

The Boundary of this area closure starts east of Hwy 67 at the junction of FR 610 and FR 611, heading northeast where the junction of FR611 and the North Canyon Trail intersect, continuing on the North Canyon Trail to the Trailhead on FR 631, then south on FR 631 to the junction with FR 445A, then northeast along FR 445A to the junction with FR 8910, then southeast along FR8910 to the Forest boundary with Grand Canyon National Park and following this boundary south and west to FR 610 “This Order only affects National Forest System Lands.”

PURPOSE:

This order is needed for public safety due to the Fuller Fire.

IMPLEMENTATION:

  1. This Order will be in effect when signed and shall remain in effect until August 31, 2016, or until rescinded, whichever event occurs first.
